PLUS PLAN

RESERCH AND SOME IDEAS

So my main idea at the moment is to create a piece of furniture wobbly, something not stariagnt or round but in the middle. Inspier from the 70S style.
I want something with colours.
Some inspiration.

After the inspiration board I decided to make a oval commode with a lot of colour. I designed one, I will see if its duable or if I have to do some adjustments.

So started with the project, went to ask some feedback and I had to do a ini format of the commode to get the problems fixed before using the actual materials.

I encounter a lot of problems with all the measurements, the drawer didn't fit and then some things with wood it didn't work because of the thickness of the material or how to put the drawers mechanism which ment I had to do 1 cm extra each Sid...etc So after a hole day of reconstruction the small market 3 times I ended up finding everything so the day after I could start constructing the commode.

We discussed how to split there hole architecture and decided to create 3 parts for each drawer: the 2 oval parts, the bars in the middle and the drawer it self.

So the next day I started with the round parts with had to be created by cutting 3 layers of wood 2 of the same one and 1 different to creat the same thickness of the mides bars but still being flexible. This basically took 3h but until it would not be dry I could not do anything so I just waited until all the round sides were done.

Because of some personal issues going on in my life ic Ould not be there from Wednesday to Monday so I started focusing on finishing the project instead of takin my time experimenting and trying out sizes or materials.

So here are all the pieces cut out and finally found out the perfect measurement for the round part with was the hardest.

The next step was to attach all together which was a little tricky but I succeed, I was really proud cause it was the most complicated part and even the people in the station congratulated me because I never did anything with wood before but I still manage so I was really happy even If I didn't had time to experiment.

Then I had to cut some pieces of wood to cover the semi round holes, in general while doing the hole set I realise that, this was my experimentation dealing with problems and slowly using almost all the machines of the station. So at the end I'm quite happy of how its turning out.

Once the main piece was done I started with the drawers, for some reason my brain did not want to understand the calculation and I messed up some times but I manage to cut everything and asamble so it would fit including the drawers mechanism.

In the last day I was very exited since I received super good feedback and congratulations from all the station teachers, I finally attached everything together and ended my plus plan project.
Honestly it was such a struggle at some times and it took a lot of work. I was there everyday first hour in the morning and went home at the closure. But even tho it took su much work I'm really prude of what I accomplished taking in account I had 0 experience and now I could say that I'm quite comfortable with the wood station witch was one of may main goals. So even tho I didn't had time to experiment I learned and got to experience a complete different part of the academy. In conclusion this project cost a lot of effort but I was dedicated and got to my main objective, finishing the commode. In a way I would say my plus plan failed since I didn't experiment with random things and I directly focused on the main project because of time but at the end of the day I learned just as much so I would consider my plus plan achieved.

I don't have a final picture yet, because I had to let it dry and the station was closing
